Our Wedding Week: Pink Moon Boat Ride

Videography by Gianni Di Natale

Nick and I met years ago and our story is one of divine timing. There were many chances for us — we even went to high school together! But It didn’t click until the right moment. We feel so lucky that the universe finally aligned, allowing us both to find the great love of our life. You can read a little bit about how we met here.

One takeaway from our story is that we exchanged, “I Love You’s” on Harvest Moon. This began our fun routine of watching all the full moons together and created a very fun tradition. Nick proposed on Pink Moon in 2022. Nick and I decided Pink Moon 2023 would be ideal for our wedding date.

When guests arrived in Italy for our wedding, we had a full itinerary planned with events and activities that were sure to be an experience of a lifetime! It was important to us that our wedding was about the joining of two families and our wedding was about the week of events- not just one day! Over the next two weeks, I will be sharing 7+ events! You can see the behind-the-scenes and design elements for each of the events on my Instagram highlights.

Pink Moon Design Elements

The first event we had for our wedding week was the Pink Moon Welcome Party. We surprised our guests by walking down the streets of Positano to board a stunning boat and sail the Mediterranean! The event design was truly beautiful! Courtney with Cecile’s Paper Co. created hanging acrylic metallic moons + stars with Harvest Moon Lyrics written on them! These were to be hung and installed on the boat. Courtney also created beautiful moon cocktail napkins and fun food decor items to keep the branding throughout the event. Our guests received gold binoculars for moon viewing. Our wedding planner, Callista and Co., was such a rockstar! We had A LOT of changes to this evening, including changing boat companies, a week before the event. Callista and her team coordinated and designed pure perfection!

The guest list was just family so I was able to give everyone inspiration and direction for attire. Our guests wore metallic shades of blue. We thought it would be fun for guests to be the stars, moon and sky, and then Nick and I were the pink moon hehe!

Pink Moon Fashion

Gabrielle Hurwitz created an absolutely stunning look for me! I had found an Alex Perry showstopper gown that was pink and loved the idea that it was a bit different than the typical white dress look. Gabrielle said I had to wear it and found the perfect Aquazurra rose gold metallic shoes with butterflies! The finishing touch was a crown from Jennifer Behr. Gabrielle said I could go “Extra” and I am so glad I trusted her!

The favorite part of the evening was definitely the Fireworks! My dad’s favorite holiday is the 4th of July and he always loves fireworks at any important occasion. The Amalfi Coast has a strict protocol for fireworks but our team worked hard to make magic happen and we couldn’t be more grateful!
