If you missed Part One of our Santa Barbara engagement shoot with Jose Villa, you can find it here!
Our experience working with Jose Villa as a client (versus an industry collaborator) was even more magical than I can describe. In addition to our glowy sunset session with Jose, we were also honored to have Miguel Garcia Studios drive from LA to Santa Barbara to film our session. I met Miguel through a workshop I did in Santa Barbara four years ago—we kept running into each other at various events and conferences, so when it came time to pick a videographer, it was an easy decision! We had a very quick turnaround for this shoot, but he made it happen and we are so grateful to have a video of our time together to further remember the occasion.
After the shoot, Jose and Joel recommended a dinner spot, The Hitching Post, which is a fun local steak place. Nick and I had a bottle of wine, all the apps on the menu, and a steak each. We were planning on meeting up with them after dinner, but Nick and I ended up in bed early on “farmer time.” We sent them a selfie of us “Looking off into the distance” in bed, thanked them for the wine recommendation, and told them we were eagerly awaiting the photos.
A few short weeks later, Jose sent along his digital gallery, as well as the printed images in an amazing Velvet Rapture album and box, which was totally next level. It made the experience even more magical to have those memories so beautifully presented.
A huge thank you to our entire incredible team for this engagement shoot. These images are going to be ones that we will cherish forever. The setting, the sunset, the love of my life “dancing in the light” (harvest moon) makes it all so very special.
